Should I wait til after I lose weight to start toning my abs? What exercises should I do with them?

I’m getting ready to start my diet again because I need to lose 10-15 pounds. Last time it only took 2 weeks, so I’m wondering when I should start working on my abs. I’m 5’5-5’6 and 145 lbs.

I’m pretty good at sticking to my diet, but it is hard to get motivated to work on my abs. Do you know what exercises are best for that area?
