Abs information is very vague on the net. Can anybody summarise the best abs exercises + how often to do them?

The Wrathful asked:

i know the Bicycle exerices can be effective aswell as the Capatins Chair but are there any more i can incorporate?

Should they be done on a daily basis or should just ONE day be dedicated to them?

and is 12-18 reps the best amount of reps to do for maximum effectiveness?

  1. try to find 8 minute abs on DVD or VHS. It’s one of the best, I’ve found.

  2. Hello,

Yes they should be done on a regular basis. The best ab exercises are dumb bell exercises that use the abs. Regular crunches/sit-ups do not work. Just search google for some dumb bell ab exercises. There is so many you can choose from, and they work great.

  3. try , it has some nice exercises also its an interesting site.

  4. You know I always feel like the best and most effective ab exersice is the most basic. Thats the crunch.

Downward starts the upward sets of 50 at a time and doing the sides as well with your legs in the air. No machines or crap nec.

This coming from a gal who has had 2 kids, and abs I thought I would never get back into shape.

No need to over complicate. Just a thought… again everyone and every body repsonds differently to different things.
    Good luck my friend

  5. There are many exercises you can do. I like to mix up my routine by doing yoga and weightlifting exercises.

But you should train your abs like any other muscle, so that means don’t overtrain as they need time to rest and grow. And, 15 quality reps is always better than 25 or 50 sloppy ones. There’s more ab workout tips here

    Good luck.
